Nearly three and a half years after initially being announced, Marvel and Netflix have finally brought together their Defenders team. While not a functioning unit just yet, the groundwork has been laid out and we’re finally up to Iron Fist, the proclaimed “Final Defender.” The controversy and press around this series has been, to say the least, polarizing, but what does a casual Iron Fist fan such as myself have to think?  

The greatest heroes, the biggest creators and the can’t-miss comic titles of 2017 are coming to a big screen and a small screen near you. Today, Marvel is pleased to announce an ambitious spring advertising campaign that will see several key Marvel Comics releases advertised ahead of blockbuster films and airing on broadcast television channels with the key goal of exciting and mobilizing TV & Film fans into local comic book shops and retailers.

Syfy and Universal Cable Productions (UCP) today announced a pick-up of two more installments of the critically acclaimed horror anthology series, CHANNEL ZERO. In addition, UCP has signed an overall deal with the series’ executive producer, Nick Antosca (“Hannibal,” “Teen Wolf”). Under the agreement, Antosca will develop and produce scripted programming with UCP for the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment portfolio and for external networks and streaming services.  

Donny Cates (GOD COUNTRY) teams up with artist Lisandro Estherren and colorist Dee Cunniffe for an all-new Southern vampire series—REDNECK—set to launch this April from Image Comics/Skybound Entertainment.  

With the Up-Coming announcemnet that The Defenders TV mini series will debut in late 2017, Marvel is wasting no time in getting comic fans ready by introducing a new ongoing series The Defenders” this Summer!  

The Time Travel Shenanigans of Barry Allen continue to haunt on the Return of The Flash. Check out the Sneek Peek trailer for the return of The Flash as Barry and the gang try to stop Iris West from being killed by the Speed God Savitar. The trailer also shows a snippet of new villain Jared Morillo a.k.a Plunder.  

Dark Horse and HBO Global Licensing are proud to honor Game of Thrones fans with the newest addition to the partnership’s line of popular collectibles: the Hand of the Queen Pin. After the Second Siege of Meereen, Daenerys Targaryen names Tyrion Lannister as her official Hand of the Queen to honor his loyalty and governance of Meereen during her absence. Daenerys presents Tyrion with a replica of the Hand brooch. Dark Horse has crafted a replica of the original prop from Game of Thrones. The Hand of the Queen Pin is beautifully constructed with zinc alloy. The pin is three inches long. The Hand of the Queen Pin goes on sale December 28, 2016, at a price of $12.99.  

Three-time ALMA Award nominee, Chicago-born Latina bombshell Marisol Nichols is set to make her prime time television return in the highly anticipated series Riverdale, the CW’s subversive take on the Archie comic book series which premieres Thursday, January 26th at 9pm. Set in present time and described as a cross between Archie and Twin Peaks, Riverdale is dark, eerie, and circles around the lives of “Archie” (KJ Apa), “Betty” (Lili Reinhart), “Veronica” (Camila Mendes) and their friends and family, exploring the surrealism of small-town life – the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome façade. Voice actor Ray Chase will be attending this years ShadoCon in St. Petersburg, FL on November 18 – 20th.Ray was born in Freehold, New Jersey, and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a trusted brand spokesperson airing on national television commercials
