Amanda Harvey Comic Book News, News, Reviews Comments Off on Freaks Amour Review.

Primarily, I am not a fan of novels turned comics. I feel like they’re long, drawn out, and they generally lose my interest by the time the book is half way finished. In this fashion, I thought that I Am Legend made a great comic because it was a short enough story that it was capable of fitting into a small book. This information aside, when reading a blurb about Freak’s Amour by Tom DeHaven and produced by Dark Horse, I literally couldn’t stop myself from picking it up. Some of the human race stricken with radiation poisoning in a functioning world? Rape Bars? Mutated goldfish eggs being the best drug on the market? Count. Me. In.

Amanda Harvey Comic Book News, Hard Music, News, Reviews Comments Off on Music and Comic Books.

More and more through out the comic community we have seen musicians veering their talents towards a different outlet. Out of our stereos and into our hands have fallen some great names in music and hopefully soon to be big names in books. There has been a vast production of these books as of late. However, what most haven’t realized is that this trend has been going on for awhile.

Amanda Harvey Comic Book News, News, Reviews Comments Off on reMiND Review.

Indie comics have been lowly regarded as nothing but second rate to the major companies for years. Artist and Writers struggle to individually produce their product out of their own pockets and push said product at booths within cons. However, with a new age of talent and ingenuity many have shined through the barriers of doubt. One of which that I just spent the last half hour of my life engulfed in entitled reMiNd.

Amanda Harvey Comic Book News, Movies, News, Reviews Comments Off on Wonder Women…A PBS special

Wonder Woman is a name the is so famous that it is almost completely disassociated with the comic world itself. She is in herself  her own entity. She instills hope, power, and courage into young girls and women alike. Even though she is the essence of women’s power incarnate she, as many women through the ages, has suffered heartache, disempowerment, and prejudice. In Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines, a PBS special, we find out the story behind the woman that made her what she is today.

Amanda Harvey Gaming, News, Reviews Comments Off on Bioshock Infinite: Spoilers and Parallels.

Let me first start by saying that the ending to this game left me so mind blown that I didn’t move out of my chair or speak to anyone for a solid half-hour after the credits had ended. I can also state that this franchise has been one of my favorites for the past decade. However, it wasn’t until four in the morning the night of completion that I had that Bioshock epiphany that really made the game so much more amazing to me.

Amanda Harvey Comic Book News, Gaming, News, Reviews Comments Off on The Last of Us: American Dream.

I’m starting to realize more and more that Dark Horse has their hands on, around, and in everything that I love. They’ve merged with some of the biggest names in comics, television, movies, and gaming to produce some fantastic sub story lines comics. Joss Whedon is doing Angel & Faith, a Buffy/ Angel reboot through Dark Horse. There’s a bunch of Star Wars excitement going around. They even have a Dragon Age comic, even though it’s not choose your own fate. The newest arrival that made my inner nerd girl scream is a prequel to the highly anticipated Last of Us game from Naughty Dog.

It’s no surprise that any period piece from modern times is going to incorporate the crooked, backstabbing atrocity that is our financial industry. However, with a new twist from director Uwe Boll, we watch and cheer on a vigilante that stands for the bottom dog and everything he has been screwed out of.

Square Enix has undoubtedly created some of the most aesthetically pleasing and lovable interactive games of all time. Naughty Dog gaming company has put out many titles that have become instant favorites of collections everywhere. The Uncharted series brought adventure and world traveling with a treasure hunting twist to RPG fan’s eyes. Jak and Daxter created the first outer bounds animation of out skirts pillaging. The Big Kahuna Comic Book News, News, Reviews Comments Off on Age Of Ultron…UUGGGHHH!

Let me just start by saying I hate Brian Michael Bendis. To me, he is the ipetime of a hack writer. His “thing” is killing characters in his major event books and regular titles as well. (Ultimate Spider-Man, Wasp in Secret Invasion, Hawkeye in Avengers Dis-Assembled, Sentry in Fear Itself) We can go on…Hack writing is not my forte. So I was very reluctant to pick up “Age Of Ultron” Bendis’s new “Event Book” for Marvel Comics. Being an avid Avenger fan for the past blah, blah years (I don’t want to date myself…ha) Ultron has always been that ultimate villain for the Avengers. Some quick back ground…Ultron was created by Hank Pym (aka: Ant Man, Giant Man,...
