Ohio tour hounds, LO-PAN, are currently trekking through the Northeast and Midwest alongside Small Stone label mates Suplecs and Backwoods Payback. The follow-up to their successful Let Freedom Ding tour this summer (allegedly named for the many bells that mysteriously occupy the dashboard of the band’s van), commenced on September 15 and has already sullied its way through 12 cities.
The time has come. TRAMPLED SUN, the highly anticipated debut album by Southern California’s KYNG–singer/songwriter/guitarist Eddie Veliz, bassist Tony Castaneda and drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña—was released today on REALID Records (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group). The album’s first two singles, “Falling Down” and “Trails in Veins,” were mixed by Mike Watts (Adelita’s Way, Hopesfall, Quicksand, Brand New).
Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth and Leslie West have been forced to postpone the 3 Guitar Heroes tour that was set to commence on October 6 in Norfolk, CT, due to insurmountable travel issues. When faced with securing a viable path for West¹s travel while still confined to a wheelchair, the search for a vehicle went on for months, and it has been called off.
The putrid and unsettling atmosphere of early Swedish death metal is once again set to be exhumed; this time on vinyl. Swedish death horde MORDBRAND have struck a deal with Chaos Records for the vinyl release of Necropsychotic. The album was originally by Deathgasm Records on September 6th and has since been a favorite amongst death metal purists and critics.
Serbian melodic black/death metal heavyweights BANE have announced a series of live dates for the fall of 2011 in support of their latest release, Chaos, Emptiness & Darkness. Released earlier this year on Abyss Records, Chaos, Emptiness & Darkness has been heralded as one of Europe’s finest metallic exports. Plans are in place for a follow up to be released next year.
The previously-announced second leg of the Kyuss Lives! North American tour dates this November, featuring BLACK COBRA and The Sword in support, has just expanded to include five brand additional dates including Los Angeles at the beginning of the tour, and four new East Coast shows at the end of the tour (Baltimore, MD, New Haven, CT, Huntington, NY, Montclair, NJ).
