When I first heard that DC Comics was going to reboot and revamp their entire universe. The comic book world was about to be rocked. Major news outlets picked up the story as DC Comics was going to change origins, scuttle long favored titles and reboot what might be comic books most consistent title. (Action Comics was going to end their current numbering system and begin with a #1) Writers and artists would be assigned to all 52 books. Titles would not be solicited until work was submitted for each title. And the crème de la crème was announced…co publisher Jim Lee and creative officer and writer extraordinaire Geoff Johns would be handling the flagship title Justice League. This would be a total rebooting of... 

Following their first ever trek through Brazil with Aborted, California goregrind ministers EXHUMED will spray their blood overseas next month on the Grind Over Europe Tour 2012. Set to kick off on February 24 in Barcelona, Spain, the band will mercilessly tear through 16 cities. Speakers will blow, ears will bleed, villages will crumble. You have been warned. The band will be joined by label-mates Rotten Sound and Magrudergrind.

So, it has finally happened. All the rumors, missed shows and cancelations have come to a head…lead singer Howard Jones has departed Killswitch Engage. Reason for his leaving isn’t being released as of yet, and by the looks of it, seems that the band is keeping it close to the vest on the reason. Howard missed several shows last year while the band was on a stateside tour, with All That Remains singer Phil Labonte steping in to fill some dates. The band also performed with former lead singer Jesse Lynch in New York city in 2010. The band has issued the following statement…

Traditional heavy metal power trio CARELESS, has released a video for the song “D.F.M.” from their latest album, Coalition. Featuring footage filmed at the abandoned Ashley Coalbreaker (one of the last remaining structures from the Industrial Era) as well as at the band members’ childhood homes, the video is themed around the main character’s search for individual freedom. Additional footage was filmed near San Dimas, CA.  

RISING‘s debut full-length, To Solemn Ash, is nearing North American release via Exile On Mainstream Records on January 17th, the Danish trio’s thunderous melding of sludge/stoner rock and straight-up classic metal captured on the LP with amazing production. Having already pillaged the Danish press as well as dozens of major metal/rock mags and zines across Europe, To Solemn Ash is starting to heavily root itself in the North American scene as the stateside release of the album nears.

Launched in 2009, Pathfinder has taken the tabletop gaming world by storm, and is now tied with Dungeons & Dragons as the best-selling hobby roleplaying game in the world, spawning rulebooks, adventures, collectible figurines, and novels, as well as the forthcoming Pathfinder Online massively multiplayer computer game.
