After a brief return home to their hulking Antarctic stronghold, intergalactic murder-machines GWAR are returning to the U.S. for one final spurt of touring before doing whatever the hell they are up to after that. The Lords and Masters of this world apparently tired of abusing penguins and are ready to return to the surface world and begin the homestretch towards the conclusion of their seemingly endless 25th Anniversary “Slay-a-Bration”, which has now grown to encompass their 26th year of rebirth on Earth from the icy prison that for centuries had been their fate.  

Eternal Descent is a comic book and music series unlike any other – and so is the new Eternal Descent Lyra, a limited edition multi-effects pedal that brings the sound of the globally popular series to guitarists everywhere. Eternal Descent is a cross-genre story that blends elements of fantasy, action, music, superhero, gothic, science fiction, supernatural and other elements into an ongoing saga featuring Lyra, the series’ heroine.

California metal act, THE HUMAN ABSTRACT has signed a worldwide deal with eOne Music. Their brand new record “Digital Veil” will be released on March 8th, 2011.  

Reading’s critically acclaimed Does It Offend You, Yeah? are set to release the follow up to 2008’s You Have No Idea What You’re Getting Yourself Into, the much anticipated Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You on March 15 on The End Records/Cooking Vinyl.  Subsequently, the band will be touring the states supporting Linkin Park starting January 20th.  

After a successful 2010, Norma Jean have announced their first headlining tour in over a year, “Explosions II.”  The tour will kick off in Dallas on February 24th at The Loft and conclude in their home town of Atlanta on March 25th.  Of Legends and Impending Doom will be supporting Norma Jean, with Stick To Your Guns joining the package starting March 3rd.  The critically acclaimed metal band recently finished a successful run in the UK with Architects after spending the summer as part of Mayhem Festival.  

    Warlock is without question one of the most prominent bands in the history of German heavy metal. Their musical journey began in the early 1980’s and came to a sudden stop in 1987, when the group’s singer, Doro Pesch, was forced to continue her career under a new moniker.

Recently Knoxville, TN’s WHITECHAPEL and drummer Kevin Lane mutually decided to go their own ways and the internet is already abuzz with rumors as to the reasons behind the split. Kevin offered the following statement to answer fans questions as to why the drummer and the band parted ways:  

Finnish death metal outfit CORPSESSED has signed with Dark Descent Records for the CD release of their self-titled debut EP. Scheduled for an early 2011 release, the EP features six tracks of bludgeoning old-school death in the vein of Entombed, Incantation, Deicide, Immolation and Grave.  

Finland’s new wave prog/death metal supergroup has posted a video trailer in anticipation of its debut North American tour, “The Finnish Metal Tour 2”, which will kick off on January 31st in Orlando.
