Jacksonville, FL melodic-rockers Cold have released their fifth album Superfiction today via Eleven Seven Music. The album, the band’s first since 2005, has already taken spots on iTunes’ album charts as the #2 rock and #14 overall album, at the time of press. The lead single, “Wicked World” has also moved into the Top 25 at active rock radio, and is poised to climb.

Long Island hardcore metal quartet, This Is Hell, has entered Killingsworth Studio in Valley Village, CA with producer, Tomas Costanza, to begin recording the band’s fourth studio album and follow up to 2010’s, Weight of the World. The yet-to-be-titled full-length will see an early October release on Rise Records.

Abyss Records’ resident maniacs MAAX will invade Urbana, Illinois this weekend for an appearance at this year’s Central Illinois Metalfest. Dubbed “The Sickest Fest In The Midwest”, CIM 2011 features some of the biggest and best names in extreme metal over three days (July 22nd – 24th). MAAX takes the stage on Saturday, July 23rd.
Philadelphia, PA based REIGN SUPREME has signed with Mediaskare Records and will release their upcoming EP ‘Sky Burial’ later this year through the label. “All the bands I know on Mediaskare love being on the label. That was pretty much enough for me,” commented vocalist Jay Pepito on why the band chose Mediaskare. Adding, “We just want to work with a label that will bend over backwards to help us achieve our goals as a band, we feel like Mediaskare is that label.”
