So, it has finally happened. All the rumors, missed shows and cancelations have come to a head…lead singer Howard Jones has departed Killswitch Engage. Reason for his leaving isn’t being released as of yet, and by the looks of it, seems that the band is keeping it close to the vest on the reason. Howard missed several shows last year while the band was on a stateside tour, with All That Remains singer Phil Labonte steping in to fill some dates. Traditional heavy metal power trio CARELESS, has released a video for the song “D.F.M.” from their latest album, Coalition. Featuring footage filmed at the abandoned Ashley Coalbreaker (one of the last remaining structures from the Industrial Era) as well as at the band members’ childhood homes, the video is themed around the main character’s search for individual freedom. Additional footage was filmed near San Dimas, CA.

Metallica has announced that is “has decided to go old school” and will release its current digital EP, Beyond Magnetic, on CD worldwide at retail on January 30th and on January 31st in North America. The EP, released via all digital retailers on December 13th, features four tracks recorded during the sessions for 2008’s 2x-platinum Death Magnetic, the band’s fifth consecutive No. 1 album.
