This who are holding their breath for a new Atheist album, keep holding. Drummer Steve Flynn of the recently reunited tech metal band was involved in a pretty serious car accident near his home in Atlanta.  

Congratulations to famed Metallica Lars Ulrich and his gorgeous super model girlfriend ahem…fiance, Jessica Miller. The two were seen meandering about Vegas this week in celebration of the engagement. Perhaps with the lack of material being put out by Metallica it’s about time that Lars decided to batten down the hatches because the excuse of work just isn’t there anymore.  

“Between Here & Lost”, the first album from Love and Death, which is the new band formed by Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, will be re-released soon as a “deluxe” edition containing undisclosed bonus material.  

As part of the continuing series of reissues of THE SMASHING PUMPKINS’ acclaimed catalog via Virgin/UMe, the iconic alternative band is set to release four separate versions, all fully remastered, of their platinum-selling 1996 box set THE AEROPLANE FLIES HIGH: 6-CD +1 DVD; 5-LPs and Deluxe Digital and Standard Digital editions.  The CD/DVD, 5-LP version and digital configurations will be released July 23.  

This October, STAR TREK: KHAN will show intrepid readers just how the master villain of Star Trek Into Darkness became the intergalactic menace seen in the blockbuster film. Over six thrilling issues, Khan’s secrets will be unlocked and the origin of evil will finally be uncovered.  

The new video from August Burns Red for “Fault Line” off their 2013 release, Rescue & Restore is out now. The video is directed by Daniel Davison.  

Chicago‘s DIAMOND PLATE have officially revealed that their upcoming album is titled PULSE. Fans were kept in suspense each day last week as the album title was uncovered one letter at a time.  

Finnish progressive death metal band Barren Earth has parted ways with singer Mikko Kotamäki. The band announced that, “Due to conflicting schedules, Mikko cannot contribute to BARREN EARTH’s activities any longer. The decision was made by mutual agreement with absolutely no drama involved.  

DEVILDRIVER will be releasing their sixth studio album Winter Kills August 27th via Napalm Records.  Winter Kills is available in four configurations including a Deluxe Digibook with CD (including two bonus tracks: “Shudder” and “Back Down to the Grave”) and Live DVD (Featuring 45 minutes of live raw DEVILDRIVER power. No studio over dubs at all just the band at their best and includes fan favorites “Clouds over California” and “The Wretched”), standard CD version, digital version and for the first time in DEVILDRIVER history, a 2LP Gatefold edition (including the 2 bonus tracks and a digital download).  

Everywhere you look you cannot stop reading or hearing about what is going on with Lamb of God. After Randy’s release and exemption from charges, the bankruptcy of the band and what they are intending on doing about getting back into the scene has been spread all over sites and podcasts everywhere. As the band prepares to tour Europe in August, Blythe is busy recapping his experiences for fans.  

The legendary metal band has cancelled the remainder of their tour following the health scares that happened to Lemmy, the lead singer and bassist for the band. He was though to have contracted some form of hematoma. The band had cancelled a select few shows through their tour of Europe after a few incidents and have since decided to take themselves off of the bill from this point forward.  

Amon Amarth decided to make a rather big impression on the Mayhem Festival this summer by bringing a viking ship with them. Their new album, Deciever of the Gods is out now. These vikings wanted to make imminently sure that people would remember them. If this involved crafting a viking hull on stage then count them in.
