Let’s not act like we don’t know what’s going on in America right now. In the past few days, we’ve seen a dramatic turn of events as society is bursting into flames in an attempt to handle the injustice that was George Floyd’s death. In that time, an unbelievable amount of support has poured out for the Black Lives Matter movement as they’ve organized protests and pressed harder on the U.S. government to reform the police system in the country. The point is: police brutality must be dealt with, and even more pressingly the treatment of black citizens must better so that we can start taking steps to heal from centuries of racist treatment, all of which our “President”...

Less than a year after the release of their covers EP Explorers, Canadian melodic power metal quartet UNLEASH THE ARCHERS are back with a brand new 10-track masterpiece in the form of their fifth full-length album, Abyss. Lifted by the urgent, breathtaking vocals of frontwoman Brittney Slayes, on Abyss, the band re-cements themselves as an unequalled, undeniable metallic force with their strongest album to date. Colossal, heart-stopping and heavy-as-hell while often exploring a noteworthy aura of addictive pop sensibility, Abyss further proves the indelible songwriting and technical talents of UNLEASH THE ARCHERS – not only reinforcing how high a modern band can soar within the atmosphere of power metal,...

Last week, Sorcerer digitally released their third full-length, Lamenting of the Innocent, via Metal Blade Records worldwide (the album is physically available in the USA now, with a new June 5th physical street date in Europe). For a preview of Lamenting of the Innocent, video clips for each song (directed by Daniel Wahlström – Heavy Groove Media) can be viewed at:

The Tangent, the progressive rock group led by Andy Tillison, are pleased to announce the release of their 11th studio album ‘Auto Reconnaissance’ on August 21st, 2020. The follow-up to 2018’s ‘Proxy’, sees them taking the band philosophy of celebrating the golden age of prog, whilst bringing it to the present and exploring new paths for the music to take in the future. On ‘Auto Reconnaissance’, they bend that philosophy to their will, taking in prog rock foot Stomping, sublime Jazz, humour, narrative, a modern R&B love song, funk/soul and a 28 minute long emotional epic about the band’s home country of England.

BLEED FROM WITHIN releases fifth studio album Fracture today via Century Media Records. To celebrate the Glaswegians release the official music video for the title track, which was filmed by Tom Armstrong and directed by Craig Gowans and Tom Armstrong.

CENTINEX originated in 1990 as a riff-oriented part of the classic Swedish death metal movement and disbanded in 2005 after releasing eight full-length albums. In 2014 they resurfaced, quite surprisingly, and with a refreshed line-up, delivered their celebrated come-back record, “Redeeming Filth”.

Recorded at London’s Trident Studios in 1999, MOONSPELL’s fourth album, The Butterfly Effect, saw the band follow more experimental paths after their impactful beginnings in gothic metal. Influenced by industrial elements of the nineties, this full-length release from the Portuguese pioneers captivates with down-tuned guitars, an electronic veil of ghostly synths and the concept of the scientific chaos theory, proclaiming that even the smallest events in life can lead to tremendous consequences.

Today (May 29th), Behemoth has released a new EP, A Forest, digitally worldwide (with additional physical copies available for purchase). For a preview of this 4-track collection, the new single, “Evoe”, can be heard at: https://behemoth.lnk.to/Evoe Front-man Nergal comments: “‘Evoe’ and ‘Shadows Ov Ea Cast Upon Golgotha’ are two brand-new, unheard songs that continue on from ‘ILYAYD‘ left off. We’re fortunate enough to have had more than enough music for the record which afforded us this transitional EP release as we move towards our new offerings. These songs may be B-Sides, but they’re really strong and fresh! At the very least, we hope it gives you...
