This week Kevin Smith announced that he has finally completed a first draft of the long awaited Clerks III. “IT IS ACCOMPLISHED!” Smith proclaims via Twitter. “First draft of CLERKS III is 137 pages.” I hefty accomplishment. Fans can sit at ease though. It took 12 years between the first and the second film, this one will only take roughly 8. What with the first film being an instant cult classic in it’s nostalgic black and white demeanor, we can only have high hopes for stylization and crack up writing. Smith claims that this film will be the “Empire Strikes Back of the Clerks trilogy.” We can only speculate some crazy comparisons. I’m crossing my fingers that Dante...

In the last 10 years of comic films, it is hard to compare the awe, wonder and wit in other heroes to that of Robert Downey Junior portraying Tony Stark, better known as Iron Man. Between the ingenious screenplay and the block buster graphics all of the films have landed in the top five Marvel reboot movies. These are movies that appeal to the masses. Anyone who knows nothing about comics can go into these films and enjoy them. With this being said, at what cost does Hollywood press to keep the masses happy instead of the fans that kept this company alive for so long?

Continuing the Marvel – “ization” of film and TV, ABC has picked up Joss Whedons “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the Fall 2013 season. Included in the series is one Agent Coulson…which if you saw The Avengers, was killed by Loki. So how is Coulson alive in this series. Well I guess we’ll have to watch and see. By the way Marvel/Disney…a little more color in the cast please, this is 2013, it’s OK to have a Latino agent and/or an African American in a T.V. show. Check out the trailer below…

Marvel has announced it’s first collaboration with Walt Disney Studios in it’s first animated film with both names attached, Big Hero 6. The film will be directed by Don Hall who has worked on a combination of different films including the 2011 Winnie the Pooh.

It should come as no surprise that this film is taking awhile in process. Many films have a hold status placed on them before release. The evidence that we have of this is that Dean Sherriff one of the films conceptual artists placed out information on twitter. Let’s not jump to conclusions about it being off for good. It’s probably just a rock in the machine that they’re trying to get out.

Are you getting excited for Man of Steel? The marketing is still kicking for this new film with the newest ploy of releasing the theme from Hans Zimmer. The track can be listened to on Sound Cloud Here. Zimmer had previously spoken about having anxiety about recreating the theme that John Williams had so perfectly crafted. Man of Steel is set to be released June 14th.

Welsh actor Luke Evans has been cast to play the infamous role that Brandon Lee haunts from the 1994 original. Instant cult classic surrounding Lee’s death, Evans hopes to capture the haunting image in good faith considering the film is dear to his heart.

In 2009 writers David Elliot and Paul Lovett wrote G.I Joe: Rise of the Cobra. This year Paramount, MGM, and Hasbro released G.I Joe: Retaliation. There is now a major copyright case going ensuing due to accusation that the new release had stolen ideas from the previous writers. However, there is much more than plastic figurines on this line of fire, $23 million in damages are being requested.

Fox Newses Jeanine Pirro decided to take up verbal arms in a speech against video game violence. An address at the NRA Annual Meetings—reported on by Raw Story— Pirro said the following: “How dare you compare me to a nutjob on the lunatic fringe in desperate need of medication doing nothing but watching Hollywood’s blood-soaked movies and playing the liberal Hollywood’s violent video games for days at a time…”  

Entertainment Weekly has released a first look at “The Winter Soldier” from the up coming Captain America: Winter Soldier”. The Winter Soldier is former Captain America sidekick Bucky Barnes, returning as a mind wiped super mercenary working for hire to the highest bidder. This is the version which first appeared in Captain America Vol. 5 #5. Captain America : The Winter Soldier will be released April 4th 2014.

However, unknowing camera man took a fatal shot of Emma Stone playing Gwen Stacy in an extremely familiar outfit that shows exactly how her fate plays out to anyone who is familiar with the images. At Entertainments Weekly’s Capetown film festival on Saturday May 4th, a 30th anniversary screening of Return of the Jedi was shown. Mark Hamill, formerly Luke Skywalker appeared to the crowd as a surprise guest. Not only did Hamill share plenty of nostalgia in making the entire trilogy of Star Wars, but affirmed to fans that he is back and signed on for the next sequence of movies. LucasArts hasn’t immediately said that they are infinitively reprising any roles, however, Hamill made it extremely clear without blatant statement that he will be included.
