Following its sordid inaugural booking last year, Portland, Oregon-based anti-fest dubbed FESTICIDE makes its revolting return this year, bigger and badder than before. From August 21st – 23rd, the melee will see nine shows invading nine venues across the city, with a total of thirty bands set to play, including AERIAL RUIN, DANAVA, DRUNK DAD, EPHEMEROS, GAYTHEIST, MUSCLE AND MARROW, RABBITS, and many others. Eolian Empire has once again joined forces with local DIY bookers Chris Control, Robert Komets, and David Rose to throw another FESTICIDE. Finland’s belligerent crossover quintet, FORESEEN HKI, is on their way across the Atlantic, on their way to the US to embark on Helsinki Savagery Over America — the band’s maiden stateside trek — which gets underway at This Is Hardcore in Philadelphia this week. FORESEEN HKI‘s relentless debut LP, Helsinki Savagery, saw worldwide release through 20 Buck Spin last November, the album’s brutally raw aggression impacting upon the masses like a full-scale nuclear attack. With a dark and callous punk/hardcore edge, the clearly Finnish rawness and hostility of the record thundered with a vengeful and streetwise sound that’s largely vacant within the modern thrash scene. Ohio grinding progressive death engineers, LOCUSTA, are packing up their weaponry for the Primordial Death Summer Tour. Set to commence tomorrow, July 23rd, in Lexington, Ketucky, the tour will raze sixteen cities, coming full circle and drawing to a close on August 8th in Covington, Kentucky. The band will be joined by fellow Buckeye State death metallers, Faithxtractor, for a bulk of the journey as well an assortment of brutalizers throughout the tour including Mutant Supremacy, Noisem, and Tombstalker.

Death-saluting metal collective, GRUESOME, will take to the streets next month on a short run of live performances. Following an appearance at Obscene Extreme America Fest in Montreal next month, the band — which features guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey (Exhumed), drummer Gus Rios (Malevolent Creation), guitarist Daniel Gonzalez (Possessed), and bassist Robin Mazen (Derketa) — will kick off a mini tour in September, waging their classic Schuldiner-styled odes upon the ears of Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Cave-In-Rock, San Diego and Los Angeles. Reactivated New York death metal unit, SKINLESS, will level stages this Fall on a medley of live takeovers. The onstage debauchery includes performances in Montreal, Clifton Park, Boston, Brooklyn and Philadelphia as well as a co-headlining stint with Pig Destroyer on this year’s edition of Denver Black Sky in December. Additional onstage infiltrations are currently in their plotting stages.
