To commemorate their induction this year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, multi-platinum rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers will release a very special digital-only EP, entitled We Salute You, on May 1st via Warner Bros. Records. It features six songs from previous Hall of Fame inductees, all of whom have influenced the band musically: The Ramones, Iggy & The Stooges, Neil Young, David Bowie, The Beach Boys, and Dion and the Belmonts. FEAR FACTORY has released a special trailer that is a visual preview into the story behind their forthcoming new album, The Industrialist. Set for release June 5, The Industrialist is the second album written by vocalist Burton C. Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares since reuniting in 2009 after a seven-year split. An audio snippet for the album’s lead single, “Recharger,” is now available at the band’s official YouTube page; the single is available via iTunes, Amazon and other online retailers beginning April 24.
This weekend, The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame had its ceremony to induct the members of this year’s class. Included was rock and roll band Guns N’ Roses. Former lead singer Axl Rose stated that he would not be attending the ceremony and would not be participating in any activities with his former band mates.
Legendary rock band Rush has unveiled details of its highly anticipated, new album, “CLOCKWORK ANGELS.” This is the renowned trio’s first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner records. “CLOCKWORK ANGELS,” the band’s 20th studio album, will be released on June 12th (see attached track listing). The recording of “CLOCKWORK ANGELS” began in April 2010 with Grammy Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) – who also collaborated with the band on their last studio album, 2007’s “SNAKES & ARROWS.” Rush co-produced both records. Female-fronted extremists WYKKED WYTCH are set to hit the road as part of the Maximum Cavalera 15th Anniversary North American Tour with SOULFLY, INCITE and LODY KONG this week. The tour gets underway on April 13th in Colorado Springs, CO and will keep the band on the road until the final date in Albuquerque, NM on May 11th. Dates in Wilmington, NC, Dallas, TX and Lubbock, TX have recently been added. Columbia, SC hard-rockers Crossfade have announced a summer headlining tour beginning June 1st in Knoxville, TN through July 1st in Charlotte, NC in support of the band’s emotionally charged new single “Dear Cocaine,” soon to be released. Arizona metal militia TOAD has returned to its homeland of Phoenix after a two-week migration through the Rocky Mountains and across the southern United States. To say TOAD’s journey was a success would be an understatement. Old friends were revisited, new allies were formed, and TOAD’s rotten gospel was delivered on a nightly basis to receptive congregations. Upon their return to the desert, TOAD immediately delved back into the writing process in preparation for the next album.
