Fan favorite artist/creator Darwyn Cooke spoke to metalmachine.net from the floor of this years Megacon 2012 in Orlando, FL. Darwyn spoke about the controversy surrounding Before Watchmen, the up coming seven series prequel books to the much loved and revered Watchmen comic book. Cooke will be working on two of those projects…The Minutemen and Silk Spectre. Check out the video interview below…  

Following the massively successful Final Frontier World Tour 2010-11, IRON MAIDEN are back on the road this summer with a series of Arena, Amphitheatre and Festival shows in the U.S.A. and Canada, opening in Charlotte, NC, U.S.A. on June 21, and finishing in Houston, TX, on Aug 18 (dates listed below), to be followed by further dates around the World in 2013.  

Florida rockers Nonpoint have entered Groovemaster Studios in Chicago with Grammy nominated producer Johnny K (Disturbed, Staind, Megadeth) to begin work on their forthcoming seventh studio album.  The new album (the band’s first for Razor & Tie) will be released later this year.  

CROWBAR have officially announced new tour dates alongside NYC based PRONG this spring. WITCHBURN has been tapped to support. The band will set out on these dates in continued support of their latest release, “Sever the Wicked Hand” released last year.  

Having produced track after track of heavy-hitting, in-your-face, feel good rock and roll on their previous two albums (2010′s STAMPEDE and 2007′s self-titled debut), Band of Brothers sees HELLYEAH taking a slightly different musical direction. Drawing on their former bands’ collective metal roots for inspiration, the influences and style of Mudvayne, Pantera, Damageplan and Nothingface are immediately recognizable in tracks such as “Band of Brothers,” “War In Me” and “Rage Burn,” while the party anthem “Drink, Drank, Drunk” retains the essence of earlier HELLYEAH.  

FEAR FACTORY today confirm Matt DeVries as the band’s new bass player. DeVries, previously of Chimaira and most recently Six Feet Under, joins the band replacing Byron Stroud. The announcement comes as the band continues work on their upcoming new album, planned for release early Summer. The album is currently being mixed in Canada by Greg Reely while artwork for the album’s packaging is nearly complete.  

Ill Niño has entered the studio to begin work on their sixth full-length release and follow-up to their Victory debut, Dead New World. The effort is slated for a summer 2012 release.  

God Forbid are preparing to release their sixth full-length album and Victory debut, Equilibrium, on March 26th. The forthcoming effort was produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel), Jason Suecof (Bury Your Dead, Chimaira) and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth).  

Kevin Conroy, the legendary voice of Batman, spoke to metalmachine.net from NYC, where the voice actor was part of the Red Carpet ceremony of the up coming release “Justice League:Doom. Kevin spoke about once again playing Batman, his other voice work and what’s in store for te caped crusader…

Metallica just announced they will be performing a at their own, self created festival June 23 and 24th. There is going to be a slew of bands playing at this 2 day extravaganza. But it’s not what you think. In what seems to become the norm for Metallica, the band has gone off the rails again and thrown a monkey wrench in this festival announcement.  

Today legendary death metal legion CANNIBAL CORPSE are pleased to announce their U.S. headlining tour. Brought to you by Metal Blade Records, Good Fight Entertainment and dB Drum Shoes, the U.S. Torture Tour 2012 will commence on April 5 in Jacksonville, Florida and level 23 stages before coming to a close on May 3 in Gainesville, Florida. Support on the near month-long trek will be provided by Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn and Arkaik.
