SEVEN SEAS AND METROMIX L.A.  PRESENT THE NINJA DIARIES

What do a struggling L.A. actor and a beautiful female ninja have in common? Read on to find out!
Seven Seas Entertainment is excited to debut "The Ninja Diaries," a new weekly manga series created exclusively for Metromix Los Angeles by Seven Seas Entertainment. "The Ninja Diaries" will launch on the cover of Metromix’s July 23rd print issue – available for free in news boxes around Los Angeles – and it will unfold, week after week, on a full page in the back of the paper. The current week’s installment + complete story archives will be housed on metromix.com, along with "Ninja Diaries" web exclusives and additional information about LA comic book shops and local comics events.
"The Ninja Diaries" is, essentially, a romantic action-comedy that tells the story of a seemingly lost ninja-turned-LA-actor and the free-spirited female ninja who ventures to Los Angeles to bring him back to his clan. Of course things take an unexpected turn and the mismatched couple find themselves on the run amid the textured and colorful world of LA nightlife.
After "The Ninja Diaries" runs in Metromix L.A., Seven Seas will publish the serial manga in graphic novel format.
Written by LA-based Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina
Weir
, a writing team who have worked in television, film,
video games and comics, "The Ninja Diaries" is just one
of many high action content series that the pair has created.
They spent two seasons on the staff of HBO's "Arli$$"
and contributed stories for Disney's "Kim Possible." They
also worked extensively for superhero comics Marvel and
DC, such as "New X-Men," "Hellions," "Adventures of
Superman" and "Checkmate." In the field of manga, the
team has adapted numerous series from Del Rey, and
created two original English-language manga series for
Seven Seas Entertainment, "Amazing Agent Luna" and
"Destiny’s Hand.""The Ninja Diaries’" vivid and bold
artwork is illustrated by Elmer Damaso. A self-taught
artist, Damaso is now a professional comic book designer
and has drawn "Speed Racer," "10 Beautiful Assassins"
among other projects for Seven Seas Entertainment. In
addition to his work for Seven Seas, Elmer also provides
spot illustrations for K-Zone Philippines, K-Zone Australia, K-Zone International and concept designs for various companies locally and abroad.
Established in 2004, Seven Seas Entertainment is devoted to producing original manga content, graphic novels and youth literature, and bringing the best in Japanese licenses to North American audiences.
