» Blog Archive Act of Defiance Make Return With "M.I.A." -
Evan Conway Hard Music, News

act of defianceAfter splitting with Megadeth, both Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover collaborated and put a new band together, drafting ex-Scar the Martyr vocalist Henry Derek and Shadows Fall bassist into Act of Defiance. Their first album, Birth and the Burial, was a success in getting  the band’s name out there, and now they’ve come out of hiding with a new album on the horizon and a new song ready to go.

“M.I.A.” almost immediately feels like improving on the songwriting for their new album, Old Scars, New Wounds. While everyone in Act of Defiance has more than enough experience in a band, everything feels tighter and more controlled on the second go-around. It also helps that the production “M.I.A.” makes Act of Defiance just a tad bit more aggressive, not that they had to worry about that anyways.

Old Scars, New Wounds comes out on September 29th. Act of Defiance have the video for “M.I.A.” streaming below.
