Roddenberry Entertainment has partnered with Sleeping Giant Films to develop Roddenberry’s critically acclaimed graphic novel WORTH into a feature film.  Writer David Mahmoudieh (Rain, Boone), has been hired to adapt the project, which will be produced by Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth for Roddenberry Entertainment and David A. Stern (The Last Tycoon, Rosemary’s Baby) and D. Matt Geller (Remember, Four In The Morning) for Sleeping Giant Films. Scott Paskoff will serve as co-producer.

WORTH is the dynamic story of Grant Worth, Detroit’s most iconic hero. Once, his power to control machines made him a legend in Motor City. However, with the advent of motherboards and microprocessors, Worth found himself unable to break through the maze of 1s and 0s that became the gateway to most machinery. Forced to discover what happens when a superhero can no longer be super, Grant Worth must adapt to today’s technological world and begin his heartfelt quest for redemption.  The graphic novel, published by Arcana Studios, was written by Aubrey Sitterson and illustrated by Chris Moreno.

“We are excited to partner with Sleeping Giant Films and passionate producers like David, Matt and Scott, as well as the exciting, young, award-winning screenwriter, David Mahmoudieh,” stated Trevor Roth, President of Development for Roddenberry Entertainment.  “Graphic novels that have successfully made the leap to the big screen have been those with sympathetic characters and strong stories, and we are confident audiences will see these qualities in WORTH.”

“We are thrilled to be in business with Rod and Trevor and to be partnering with Roddenberry Entertainment, an iconic company whose founder paved the way for bold and diverse storytelling,” said Geller and Stern, Co-Principals of Sleeping Giant Films. “David Mahmoudieh is the perfect voice through which to explore the timely and important theme of man’s relationship with technology and to bring this wonderful property to the screen.”
