The prog gods must be smiling today because this is absolutely amazing.

If you like prog, you like Haken. It doesn’t matter if you like prog rock or metal because Haken straddles that line perfectly. Quickly making a name for themselves following 2013’s critically acclaimed The Mountain, Haken have recently released this year’s near-flawless Affinity, of which I briefly shared my thoughts on earlier at its release. Having seen success and recognition from legendary musicians such as Mike Portnoy, the band is only moving up and coming back to the United States for another run.

Announcing a headlining tour of the US and Canada, the band will be bringing Thank You Scientist, New Jersey’s prog rock outfit, along for the ride, who are scheduled to release their second album this year. Tour dates are available on the band’s Facebook page. Tickets are currently scheduled to go on sale this week. For prog as a whole, this is a tour anyone with a taste for the genre can’t afford to miss.
