Hunter Young Hard Music, News, Reviews

iniquitous SavageryDeath Metal is a genre overpopulated by a vast valley of bands, good and bad, who strive to bring the deathiest of metals to a field laden with the corpses and footprints of both spectrums. A relative new comer, hailing from the land of the brogue, is Iniquitous Savagery, who have dropped their newest bloody slab of brutality, Subversions of the Psyche, upon us!

Subversions of the Psyche finds Iniquitous Savagery in a markedly barbarous mindset, absolutely shredding through the 8 tracks on the album. At a combined length of around 29 minutes for the whole shebang, Iniquitous Savagery absolutely shows up only to fuck shit up and get the fuck out. Utilizing blast beats galore, a decidedly sick high gain guitar crunch, and vocals similar to Pathology’s unintelligible guttural ravings, Subversions… is a decimating release for the DM genre.

Only enforcing the production and technicality, Subversions of the Psyche begets a track listing of simply savage titles bordering on the psychotically smart: the simply named Sadistic, Propagating a Pestiferous Enmity, or the mouthful of Prognosis of Terminal Parasitic Degradation Facilitating the Process for Utter Degradation. With a pallette of words bordering on the linguistically antisocial, These songs progress at a rate of destruction that will leave you breathless at their ruthless aggression in such a quick delivery. The title track, Subversions of the Psyche, is wonderfully mixed, using a slightly different approaching in heavy rhythmic chugging with a killer double bass drum attack, leading to aural warping from the absolutely filthy vocal delivery and some of the sickest harmonic riffs since death metal was a babe.

Overall, there isn’t “new” stuff from Iniquitous Savagery’s Subversions of the Psyche, but the delivery, energy, and ability with which they delivery this fresh carcass absolutely win my blackened little heart over. Available now at the Grindethic Records shop!
