In This MomentIn This Moment, fronted by the always gorgeous Maria Brink, just released a dark, very avant garde video for their hit single, Sick Like Me. And it gets a little weird on the visuals, but solid as they always are! More after this break.

Now, I am a bit biased, because Ms. Brink is my dream woman, but the video is directed by her and Robert Kley, and is very excellent on visuals and perfectly captures the combination of sick and beautiful that is captured in the song. Ms. Brink wants you to know that you should be comfortable with who you are, as we are all a different kind of sick and twisted, but all are beautiful because of that! This was always the type of music I craved growing up, way back in the early 2000s, and still grabs me pretty nicely. Again, she wants you to know that you are beautiful, and she does so in the weirdest video outside of Cradle of Filth or other very avant garde or gothic bands.

Its shot similar to aforementioned Filth, with contrasting black and white, garish costumes, constantly shifting scenery, and grabbing garb for Brink, which is different for every shift until the cycle starts a second time. If Dani Filth made a cameo, you really would not be surprised. Its a perfect mirror to the lyrics, balancing a careful ugliness in the costumes with a stark and dark beauty highlighted subtly. Musically, its standard ITM, using heavy chug chords, with harmonics and slides, really solid drumming for a fairly mainstream band, and the absolutely stellar vocals by Maria Brink, however, if you are lookign for her trademark scream, it is very absent. She focuses much more on the singing, much like in the video for Forever. This is like its dark counterpart, in fact.

The video is available on Youtube, found below, and on iTunes now!
