The Big Kahuna Hard Music, News

The first video from new NOVEMBERS DOOM album Aphotic has been released. The

song, “What Could Have Been,” features vocalist Anneke Van Giersbergen (Auga De Anneque, ex-The Gathering) and can be viewed at this location. The video has a cinematic feel, using once again Cage XXI Enterprises and Director Tony Myles. Tony is also responsible for the

“Autumn Reflection” and “A Eulogy for the Living Lost” videos.

NOVEMBERS DOOM is also featuring a podcast on its website. Growing in popularity, the podcast has been described by vocalist Paul Kuhr as “an offensive comedy with informative stories from the band.” Check it out here.

“Eighth full-length, Aphotic, if not a return to form, is certainly the most consistent record the band has made in years.”- RevolverMag.com – 3.5/5

“Novembers Doom has released a CD much more befitting of their respected, evocative moniker, and despite the album’s title, there is some light tucked away in here. And something special and beautiful has grown in the darkness.”

MetalReview.com – 8.6/10

“Eight albums into their career and still as strong as ever, Novembers Doom has put together another thrill ride of progressive metal that fails to disappoint by any stretch.”

WickedChannel.com

“It’s hard not to recommend Aphotic to the metal masses. There are chances taken and risks that pay off… That mentality does wonders in Novembers Doom composing one of the finest albums of their career.” – About.com 4.5/5

“…Novembers Doom demonstrates a profound unwillingness to be overshadowed in any way traveling their chosen metal music path. This new release may reference an absence of light, but the Herculean Novembers Doom validate they will never be left in the dark.”

ChroniclesOfChaos.com 8/10

“With its aggressive and punchy approach Aphotic demonstrates that the creative engines within the band have a lot more fuel left in the tank. Quite frankly, it is difficult to come across a band that demonstrates this much will to improve so far into their career.”
