On June 14th, Warner Bros. Records will release the album… to the hotly anticipated motion picture Transformers: Dark of the Moon – the third film in the Oscar®-nominated summer blockbuster Transformers series, which hits theaters nationwide on June 29th. The album will feature the rock radio mix of “Awake & Alive” from Skillet, which earned the band their first No. 1 Active Rock hit. The track was also the first No. 1 Active Rock hit to feature female vocals in the charts nearly 14-year history.
“I am a junkie for these kind of movies so to have ‘Awake & Alive’ included on the Transformers: Dark of the Moon album is one of the coolest things that we could have happen,” comments Skillet frontman John Cooper. “I’ll be one of the first in line to see the film when it hits theaters this summer.”
Recently, Skillet took home their first Billboard Music Award, garnering further recognition for the gold certified AWAKE which boasts three active rock hits. Their fourth single, “It’s Not Me, It’s You” will impact rock radio formats on June 7th.
