KRAZY FEST 2011 “GOLDEN TICKET” CONTEST ENDS WEDNESDAY
Pre-party at Ear X-Tacy set to kick off the weekend on Thursday

Kentucky’s premiere punk rock weekend Krazy Fest makes its return to Louisville’s Expo 5 this weekend after an eight-year hiatus, bringing with it a lineup that bridges generations of the genre. Tickets for the three-day festival are on sale now, and each person who purchases a three-day pass to Krazy Fest 2011 will be entered to win the “Golden Ticket” contest. One lucky fan will win the ultimate souvenir from the event, a merch package featuring items from every band on the bill. What better way to commemorate the return of the region’s most beloved punk rock festival? Four runners up will also receive a Krazy Fest prize pack. The “Golden Ticket” contest ends on Wednesday, so head over to: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=3541295 and get your three-day pass now for a chance to win. The long-awaited comeback of Krazy Fest will kick off on Friday, May 20th at 3:00 PM and continue through Sunday, with performances by Krazy Fest alumni Hot Water Music, Hot Rod Circuit, Bane, Cave In and Bouncing Souls, as well as festival newcomers Against Me!, Anti Flag, Lucero, Title Fight and more scheduled to take place throughout the three day extravaganza at Expo 5.

However, a special pre-party will officially jump start the weekend a day earlier on Thursday, May 19th at Ear X-Tacy (http://www.earx-tacy.com/), co-sponsored by Ticketweb and Alternative Press. Fans can come down from 6:00 – 8:00 PM for an evening of karaoke and a final chance to purchase single day tickets and three day passes before they are only available at the door. Fans who have already purchased three day passes can also pick up their wristbands a day early to avoid lines at the gate. More info at: http://www.facebook.com/krazyfest.
Single day tickets can still be purchased online at: http://krazy-fest.com/tickets.htm.

Krazy Fest’s inaugural weekend took place back in 1998, a vision of Initial Records founder Andy Rich. The festival continued to grow over the next six years, and featured such acclaimed acts as AFI, Jimmy Eat World, Andrew WK, Snapcase, Hatebreed, Dashboard Confessional and more, as it became a staple in the regional and national music scene, and a crucial destination for bands’ summer touring plans.

Krazy Fest’s annual run ended in 2003, leaving a void in the local and regional scene, which until now carried on without a true punk weekend to call its own.
