Abyss Records’ resident maniacs MAAX have been added to the already stacked lineup at this year’s Central Illinois Metalfest. Dubbed “The Sickest Fest In The Midwest”, CIM 2011 features some of the biggest and best names in extreme metal over three days (July 22nd – 24th). MAAX will be assaulting fest-goers with their bastardized black n’ roll on Saturday, July 23rd.
Additionally, Abyss Records has been added as an official vendor at the fest. Be sure to visit the label’s booth for new releases and merch from the likes of HAT, BANE, FESTER, DIABOLICAL, HYPERBOREAN and many more. For a look at what will be available, visit www.officialabyssrecords.com.

MAAX released their Six Pack Witchcraft EP last year on Abyss Records to critical acclaim. Terrorizer Magazine touted the release for its “filth, dirty, rotten, recorded deep in a hole don’t fuck with us savagery” and DOA Magazine called the EP “beer drinking, hell-raising Punk/Thrash metal with FUCKING BALLS!” Still not convinced? Check out www.myspace.com/maaxmetal for a sampling of tunes and show info. For even more dirt on these filthy bastards, check out this interview with TeethoftheDivine.com‘s Jodi Michael. MAAX will be unleashing the follow up to Six Pack Witchcraft, titled Unholy Rock N’ Roll, later this year. Prepare yourself more mayhem, debauchery and liquor-fueled eardrum battery.
