D.O.A. is in full band/hockey training mode this summer in preparation for their Canadian tour in September and October. Canada’s premier punks will slash, elbow and hack their way across the Northern Wasteland just in time for the opening of the new hockey season. These masters of mayhem are fresh off of great tours of Europe and the eastern U.S.A They will hit the stage in mid-season form performing songs from their new album Talk – Action = 0. As well, they will crush you into the corner by playing classics from great albums like Hardcore 81, Something Better Change, Bloodied But Unbowed, Northern Avenger and of course, hockey tunes from Kings Of Punk, Hockey and Beer. D.O.A. and video producer Marcus Rogers have just released a new video: That’s Why I Am An Atheist on YouTube. It’s the opening track from Talk – Action = 0. There’s plenty of controversy as D.O.A. takes on religious zealots. It’s a wild ride through this blistering track with Reverend Joe leading the charge with his silver cross. The lyrics of the song and the images in the video make it clear why religion is a blight on all of human kind when it is pedaled by fanatics and when fairness and compassion are shoved aside. D.O.A., always the social activists, have teamed up with the David Suzuki Foundation. The anthemic track We Won’t Give In from Talk – Action = 0 will be will be featured on a new benefit album “Playlist For The Planet”. David Suzuki has been a tireless advocate for the environment for over 30 years and his foundation has had a positive effect on this world for the past 20 years. D.O.A. is proud to be associated with this activist/consciousness raising album. Playlist For The Planet, a compilation album featuring a ton of great Canadian bands, will be released this fall.
