In this surrealistic new nightmare from horror director William Malone (“Masters of Horror”) – a sinister twist on the Sleeping Beauty legend – Laura Baxter (Cherilyn Wilson, Chain Letter, Extreme Movie) suffers from a bizarre medical condition that keeps her in an almost constant dream state, causing her to literally sleep her life away. But it’s in this state where she’s most vulnerable, unaware that a psychotic mass murderer is attempting to take possession of her mind. The “fiercely original” PARASOMNIA, which also stars Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator, American Bandits), Alison Brie (“Mad Men”, “Community”) and Sean Young (Haunted Echoes, Blade Runner) awakens on DVD and Blu-Ray ($24.98srp each) this July in a special edition loaded with bonus features including director’s commentary, a making-of featurette, deleted scenes, interviews with cast and crew, and a photo gallery.

When art student Danny Sloan (Dylan Purcell) goes searching for something to ground him following a bad break-up, he stumbles upon – and falls for – the innocent sleeping beauty, Laura. Afflicted with parasomnia, a rare sleeping disorder brought on by a tragic childhood accident, she only awakens on rare occasions, staying conscious for only minutes at a time. Unfortunately, menacing mesmerist and serial killer Byron Volpe (Patrick Kilpatrick) has grown obsessed with Laura, and is using his powers of hypnosis to claim her as his own. Byron may be locked away in a high security hospital, but no restraints in the world are strong enough to keep him from the woman of his dreams. Now, as Byron take possessions of unsuspecting hosts in the real world while commanding a frightening array of ominous creatures in the realm of the unconscious, Danny must face unimaginable horrors to save Laura and defeat this malevolent killer.
